instead

instead of seeking
what does
seek
what does not

do not ask
what keeps a tree
standing up
ask what
cuts it
down

instead of seeking
what builds
a home
seek what leaves it
in ruin

do not ask
what unites a people
ask
what rips them apart

instead of seeking
to define
symphony
seek to define
cacophony

do not ask
what makes people
conscious and wise
ask why they want
to believe so many lies

instead of seeking
an answer
seek a result

an answer
may make you
feel accomplished
but
a result won’t
lie to you

instead of asking
why is there smoke?
ask
where is the fire?

do not ask
what makes
me smile
ask what
makes me
cry

do not make
me cry
and you shall
make me
smile
