Something.

Something about you is something about me;
it swims in your eyes like a fish in the sea.
A fish with many brothers, sisters as well,
mothers and fathers, a whole school in the swell.

Something about me is something about you –
it wells up in my eyes when the truth breaks through.
A fish or two differs from your ocean to mine,
yet count the whole school: each adds up to divine.

Something about you is something about me;
it permeates your aroma, it lives on the breeze.
A primal memory – when your soul was mine,
when my soul was yours – outside place or time.

Something about me is something about you.
In the magnetizing heat from our hearts, so true, do you feel it, too…
giving life to us both, carrying us to heaven,
binding us more than any oath?

About the Author: I have a B.A. in Honours Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo and I love all major world religions – Eastern, Western, or in between. I’m genderqueer, and I’m comfortable with male, neutral, and female pronouns. I’m married to my dear wife Lynn, who is the love of my life, my best friend, and my muse. I think far too much, and often have too many ideas to know what to do with. And I am a doing being, just like you!
