the most terrifying, the most exciting, the most found, the most lost
the most truth, the most lies, the most sharp, the most soft
the most passion, the most responsibility, the most ecstasy, the most lust
the most discomfort, the most relief, the most concern, the most trust
the most youth, the most seasoned, the most power, the most weakness
the most grandeur, the most subtlety, the most health, the most sickness
the most giving, the most selfish, the most present, the most missing
the most confident, the most nervous, the most touching, the most kissing
the most demands, the most sacrifice, the most costly, the most free
the most joy, the most tears, the most alive, the most deceased
the most beautiful, the most disgusting, the most vulnerable, the most protected
the most you, the most me, the most us, the most naked

About the Author: I have a B.A. in Honours Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo and I love all major world religions – Eastern, Western, or in between. I’m genderqueer, and I’m comfortable with male, neutral, and female pronouns. I’m married to my dear wife Lynn, who is the love of my life, my best friend, and my muse. I think far too much, and often have too many ideas to know what to do with. And I am a doing being, just like you!

Great piece, but what the hell is “genderqueer”? Seems like there’s a new identity label made up every single day around here

I’m glad you enjoyed the poem! Genderqueer is an umbrella term for anyone who has a non-cis gender identity, inlcuding trans, non-binary, genderfluid, bigender, etc. The term “Genderqueer” has actually been around for over 20 years, so its not new. In fact, it’s a great term to use next time you’re frustrated by human diversity and can’t keep track of people’s identities.
